Plant Description

Description: Cheery yellow flowers on plants with evergreen, mostly basal foliage. Attractive to butterflies. Drought tolerant once established. Endemic to Florida.

Life Cycle: Perennial

Light Exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom Color: Yellow, with green centers

Bloom Season: Mid-spring to summer (can bloom at any time of the year from Central Florida southward)

Height (in bloom): Up to 20 inches

Habitat: Dry sandhills, pinelands and disturbed areas
