Starry rosinweed (Silphium asteriscus )

Description: A tall, robust, coarsely-textured plant with large yellow daisy-like flowers with green centers. Probably attractive to butterflies.

Lifespan: Perennial

Light exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom color: Yellow

Bloom season: Mid-spring to early fall

Height (in bloom): 2 to 5 feet

Habitat: Dry sandhills, open woodlands and disturbed areas
